Evangel Gimadu is a social worker by profession and a violinist by occupation. He is the founder of Ossia String Quartet, a contemporary ensemble currently based in Kampala, Uganda.
He holds a certification of Grade Five ABRSM from the Royal School of Music via Kampala Music School. His educational background includes a Bachelor Degree in Social Work and Social Administration from Makerere University.

How far in advance should I book for a private event?
For private engagements in Kampala or Entebbe, please book at least 2 months in advance. For international bookings, 6 months notice is recommended.
Can you perform specific song requests?
Absolutely. While I specialize in classical violin, I am happy to arrange contemporary pieces, Afro-fusion, and special requests with sufficient notice.
What are the technical requirements for a performance?
For solo performances, a microphone setup (if the venue is large) and a shaded area (for outdoor events) are vital to protect the instrument from the elements.
Do you travel for performances?
Yes, I am available for travel across East Africa and internationally. Travel expenses and accommodation will be included in the performance proposal.
Do you perform with other musicians?
Yes, I frequently perform with pianists, string quartets, and full orchestras. I can also arrange for a backing ensemble if required for your event.
How long is a typical performance set?
Standard performance sets range from 45 to 90 minutes. However, the duration is fully customizable to suit the flow of your event, from short ceremonial interludes to full concert programs.
Do you offer violin lessons?
I offer private masterclasses for advanced students and occasional workshops. Please inquire directly for availability and current teaching schedules.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations made more than 30 days prior to the event are fully refundable. Cancellations within 30 days may be subject to a percentage of the fee to cover reserved time and preparation.
